Unique Project Develop GPS tracking functionality on Thunkable

We are building an app for a dog park using the Thunkable platform.

To enhance the user experience, we want to add real-time tracking functionality that will allow us to locate each dog within the park. Each dog will be wearing a GPS tag or collar that will transmit its position in real time.

We need an experienced developer to implement this functionality and integrate it into the app.

Main activities:

• GPS device selection: Help choose the GPS device (tag or collar) that best suits the needs of tracking dogs in the park, ensuring compatibility with location APIs.

• Location tracking API: Integrate a tracking API (Google Maps API, Mapbox API, or Here API) to display each dog's location with a custom icon or avatar that moves on the map in real time.

• Real-time database: Configure and integrate a database that supports continuous updates (such as Firebase Realtime Database or Firestore) to store and synchronize GPS location data.

• Backend system: Implement a backend (with Firebase Cloud Functions or AWS Lambda) to manage the data flow, including collection, storage, and real-time location updates.

Job Requirements:

• Experience developing location tracking functionality and integrating maps APIs.

• Knowledge of Thunkable or experience with similar platforms with API and Firebase integration.

• Familiarity with real-time databases and backend configuration for managing GPS data.

• Ability to assist in selecting GPS devices to ensure tracking compatibility and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Develop real-time tracking functionality in the app to accurately display each dog's location.

• Configure and integrate the maps and location API with Thunkable, customizing location icons for each dog.

• Configure the backend necessary to ensure collection and processing of location data, including permission management and real-time synchronization.
